That's all been addressed, and confirmed. You folks are not listening.

Harsh.

I am listening.

is this your motherboard?

take a picture of the ram labels (each one that's different) and upload them

also doing a full cmos reset can help

remove power cord, press system power button till light/beeps stop the open case cover and either remove cmos batt or press cmos reset button for 10 sec, reinstall and power on enter bios reset date/time and check shown bios ram setting

DGroves - yes, that looks like my mobo. The Crucial modules are identical. The CMOS reset did not work,

This issue remains unresolved, and money down the drain. In future I will either go with a different OEM, or avoid 'pre-builts' altogether.

and the issue will remain unresolved,.........you were asked to post pictures of the ram labels

just because you think they are the same does not mean they are,,,,,,,,

while they may be identical, until i can see the labels i have no way to be sure

and until i have this i can't cross off the ram as a possible cause of your problem

Well the Crucial are in the PC right now so I'm not going to get those out. Attached are pix of the Hynix 4GB sticks that came in the SFF box and worked in both that and my tower until I tried the first upgrade with the G.Skill. After that nothing worked right, on either board. As seen in the pix, there are HP P/N stickers on the sticks. I'm saying those are the sticks that the PC shipped with originally. That used to work, and don't now. So there's that,

as i own the HP 8300, 6300, 6000 sff models and i'm well aware of this series being extremely picky about ram and your G2 model is also picky about ram

i also had ram that would work for several reboots in the above systems and then not............

which was HP labeled (but did work fine in my x99 board) i finally resolved the problem by buying new and also acquiring used dimms of the correct certified ram

for new i bought what crucial recommended (two sticks) for the system and then used that part number to find used sticks for the other slots/systems i own

just because your ram has a HP part number, does not mean it's the correct ram for your HP model only that it came out of some HP system

It doesn't matter if it was the RAM the box shipped with; it worked before in two different 800 G2s. And I did the same thing you did; I used the Crucial system to identify the correct P/N, then bought used. And with those sticks only DIMM1 works.

I will avoid HP in future, and I would suggest people reading this be cautious as well.
