HP Pavilion Desktop - 570-p568ng

I want to upgrade the RAM of my Pavilion Desktop 570-p568ng.

Now I got 1 module of 8 GB of RAM.

I bought a 32 GB Kit (2x 16 GB) realising the mainboard (?) does only support 16 GB of RAM.

So i ordered a 16 GB Kit (2x 8 GB) but now only 8 GB is shown in Windows.

What's the deal? Is there a limitation to specific RAM modules supported by the mainboard?

Thanks

@Moe_at_IVL,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Your HP Pavilion 570-p568ng Desktop PC (1ZN84EA) according to: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05538904, is fitted with the HP Willow2 motherboard with SSID: 82FE.

According to this document, it supports up to 16 GB DDR4 PC4-19200, 2400 MHz (unbuffered) RAM on a 64-bit computer.

However, according to: https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/pavilion-570-p568ng, it is documented that you can indeed install up to 2 x 16GB of DDR4 PC4-19200, 2400 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, UDIMM, 288-pin RAM sticks.

Looking at your desktop's User benchmarks here: https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/HP-Pavilion-Desktop-PC-570-p5xx/67344, these are the RAM (all 8GB RAM sticks) that showed up as running at 2400 MHz:

HP24D4U7S8MH-8
Samsung M378A1K43CB2-CRC
Crucial CT8G4DFS824A.M8FE
Hynix HMA81GU6AFR8N-UH
Silicon Power SP008GBLFU240B02

The 2 x 16GB equivalent RAM models should likewise be compatible to run at 2400 MHz.

I am mentioning these RAM options, because HP computers are known to be finnicky when it comes to RAM and achieving max RAM speeds.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

I wasn't aware of that. I will try one of your recomendations.

@Moe_at_IVL,

Oh yes, I am not kidding at all.  If you were to search in this HP User forum for folks struggling with low RAM speed issues, there are literally tons of them.

I ordered Crucial CT2K8G4DFS824A 16GB DDR4-2400 DIMM 8GBx2Kit PC4-1920 and it works!

@Moe_at_IVL,

That is awesome!  -Based on my own experiences and that of many other Users in this Forum, the outcome of fitting new RAM in an HP computer is sometimes, well, unpredictable.

The best I can do is looking for specific RAM model/RAM speed precedence and provide my recommendations.

Kind Regards,
