HP Compaq Elite 8300
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everybody. I ask for help. I decided to change the RAM, I bought 2 strips of 4GB, the frequency is 1600mhz. But for some reason they work at a frequency of 1333mhz, although the motherboard supports 1600. The BIOS does not have a frequency selection section. BIOS updated to the latest version. Thanks for the help, and I apologize for my English ..

Here is the manual for the HP Compaq Elite 8300

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03612798

The section concerning the memory modules begins on page 82.  Read that information to make sure that what has been done so far, is according to the manual.

Please note that just because the memory is rated for 1600 MHz does not mean the system will set the speed at that speed.  Other than that rating, the speed is set to match what the processor needs and what the system can run as stable.  What CPU is installed will be a factor.  Please specify the CPU.

I have an Intel Core i7 3770 processor. Why in BIOS there is no possibility to set the frequency and timings? Maybe there are some hidden settings? There really are no settings, this is the poorest BIOS I have seen.

While I do not have access to a HP Compaq Elite 8300 , typical OEM BIOS settings do not allow much leeway in making changes, espically when it is a stable business class machine.

OEM machines typically do not allow custom settings for much of anything in the BIOS settings, unlike retail motherboards.
