Good morning community.
looking for some help, I recently upgraded my gpu to an ASUS GeForce RTX4060.
I'm looking the RTX 4060 Nvidia app, system> performance tab is showing GPU power: 0 watts.
GPU voltage is showing 0.87 volt.
there is and reason why is showing 0 watts? any way to fix it?
drivers are updated.
thank you for your time and help.
these are my components:
- 500 W 80 Plus Bronze certified power supply
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600G (3.9 GHz up to 4.4 GHz , 16 MB L3 cache, 6 cores, 12 threads)

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
I am not sure how much stock we should assign to these numbers.
Here's what you should try: download MSI Kombustor from here and run it. This program will light a proverbial fire under your graphics card, and it will become very obvious after just a few seconds if your card has issues or if it is just going to PURR along just A-OK.
What I would like to know is what the average fps (frames per second) your card runs at as shown at the bottom left of the Kombustor screen.

Thank you for your picture, which does justice to the saying: "a picture says a thousand words"!
I see what you mean. When I ran MSI Kombustor on the platform I happen to use right now, I got this:
Never seen "-1.0%TDP" before!
You are sure your RTX 4060 is powered using an 8-pin PCIe power cable and you are using the Nvidia RTX 4060 "Game Ready Driver" as shown here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/results/237719/?
When I researched your issue, this is what I got:
The "-1.0% TDP" shown while running MSI Kombustor likely indicates an error or anomaly in how the software is reading and reporting the GPU's power consumption. Here's what it might imply:
1. Negative TDP Value Meaning
- TDP (Thermal Design Power) typically represents the maximum amount of power the GPU is designed to consume under load. A negative value doesn't make sense in this context.
- It is likely a bug in MSI Kombustor or the GPU monitoring tool you're using, such as MSI Afterburner, that misreads or misinterprets power consumption data.
2. Possible Causes
- Software Glitch: The monitoring software might not be fully compatible with the RTX 4060 or the GPU driver version you're using.
- Driver Issues: Outdated or buggy GPU drivers can sometimes cause monitoring software to misreport metrics.
- Sensor Reading Problem: If the tool relies on GPU sensors, there may be a problem with how those sensors report power data.
- Custom BIOS/Overclocking: If the GPU is running a custom BIOS or overclocked settings, it might affect how power readings are interpreted.
3. Steps to Troubleshoot
- Update Monitoring Software: Ensure MSI Kombustor and any related tools like MSI Afterburner are up-to-date.
- Update GPU Drivers: Install the latest drivers for the RTX 4060 from NVIDIA's official website.
- Cross-Check with Other Tools: Use other monitoring tools like GPU-Z, HWMonitor, or NVIDIA's performance overlay to see if they report the same value.
- Reset Overclocking: If the GPU is overclocked, reset it to factory defaults to see if the issue persists.
- Verify BIOS Settings: Ensure no unusual BIOS configurations might affect power reporting.
4. Impact on Performance
- If the GPU is functioning normally (achieving expected performance levels, temperatures are within range, and there are no crashes), the issue is likely a reporting error rather than an actual hardware fault.
5. When to Worry
- If you notice performance degradation, overheating, or instability, there could be a deeper issue with the GPU or its power delivery system. In such cases, further diagnostics or professional inspection may be required.
If the "-1.0% TDP" persists across tools and updates, it might be worth reaching out to MSI or NVIDIA support for clarification.
