Hello, I would like to updgrade my 16gb ram (2x8gb) to 32gb (2x16). After a long research i bought a set of 2 crucials that are said to be compitble but my pc won't boot in any way. Tried everything, and i mean everyting. I would like to know the right set to buy and if there's a way to unlock the ram specifics in bios.
HP Omen 16L TG03-0000i
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700F
RAM 8GB Kingston 5600MHz x 2
8D7F A (SMVB)
thank you

Greetings @itsjustale
My pleasure.
Yes, memory is very expensive at this time.
I can't guarantee the Samsung memory referred to in my previous response will work.
But this User at User Benchmark, having a HP 8D7F MB, is using two 16GB sticks of Samsung memory - M323R2GA3EB0-CWMOL.
The Samsung memory is (1Rx8) which should be single rank memory having eight - 2GB memory chips.
Your PC's existing memory module sounds like single rank memory having sixteen - 1GB memory chips.
But your PC's MB might have a problem using dual rank memory modules.

Greetings @itsjustale
Did Crucial memory specifically recommend the memory modules purchased?
Crucial memory Here lists all compatible memory modules for your PC's MB. All of the suggested memory modules at the Crucial site should work with your PC's MB.
You can disregard the following troubleshooting suggestions if "you've been there and done that".
You could try removing the CR2032 MB battery when the PC is disconnected from AC power to reset CMOS.
Then check for a good POST.
And maybe you purchased a defective memory module. Or both memory modules are bad.
Try each memory module, one at a time, in each memory slot to check for a good POST.
You'll have to do a return/refund if one memory module or both memory modules don't work.

Hi @Bill_To,
Before buying the sets of crucials I checked their website and it showed they were indeed compatible.
I tried everything you described, I only got a black screen and only once, when trying with just one stick, I got 3 slow and 2 fast beeps. Nothing more than that. So I suppose they are not compatible as the Crucial website claimed.
That's why I would like to know what to buy or if there is a work-around to make them work.
It seems that HP is very limited in that department and that makes it really hard to upgrade my pc.
Thanks for your reply though.

Greetings @itsjustale
My pleasure.
It sounds like you bought defective memory modules. This would be the first time I have seen Crucial memory not work in a HP MB.
Crucial is supposed to be winding down retail: memory and SSD sales sometime this year.
User Benchmark lists some memory modules which work with your PC's MB at this Site.
I did locate a possible 16GB Samsung M323R2GA3EB0-CWMOL memory module purchase option at Amazon.
The Kingston memory is HP branded memory. This component would be very hard, if not impossible, to find.
Adata (AO2X60UCSV1-BOBS) was the other compatible memory used in the TG03 PCs.

Hi @Bill_To,
I have one last question: My current RAM is 1Rx16, but all the suggested options are 1Rx8. Could this be a problem for compatibility?
Sorry for all the questions, but given how much RAM costs, I want to be 100% sure about what I'm buying.
Thanks again for your help
