My machine has been running really nicely, but I need more storage. I've acquired a 1TB Samsung 970 EVO and I'd like to install it to my Omen 880 if possible.
Is it even possible to install an SSD to one of my external hard drive bays? If so, how does the edge connector of the SSD connect to the Omen?
I guess my other alternative is to buy an enclosure for the SSD and use it as an external USB drive, but I'd really prefer to mount it in the external drive bay if possible.
Any advice is appreciated. 🙂

You should mention the exact model 880. There are 7 in the quick list.
The Sumsung 970 EVO 2280 card is a m.2 (NVMe) SSD card. The only choice would be a PCIEx4 adapter .
HP Envy 8 5010 Tablet
(2) HP DV7t i7 3160QM 2.3Ghz 8GB

Custom Asus Z97D, I7-4790k, 16GB RAM, WIN10 Pro 64bit, ZOTAC GTX1080 AMP Extreme 3 fan 8GB RAM, 500GB SSD, Asus PB287 4k monitor, Rosewill Blackhawk case and 750W OCZ PSU.

Thanks for your reply. It's an 880-180d.
And you were right! I bought a PCIe x4 adapter, attached the Samsung SSD to it, plugged it into the PCIe slot and...voila! After a quick format, right now it's copying data from my boot SSD at a blinding speed (160GB in about 6 minutes).
Many thanks for your help, this has made my day. 🙂
