HP Pavilion 24-B229c
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I read the documents located at https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-24-b200-all-in-one-desktop-pc-series/13823536/model... which does describe on how to remove the back cover from the unit. The 2 philip screws at the bootom that attached the cover to the unit to not come out which suggest that they are some sort of 1/4 turn screws. I've turn the screws a number of times and you hear a cliocking sound, this does crack open a bit the bottom but the sides of the back cover are still solidly attached to the unit. Obviously I don't want to force the issue and end uip with a crack screen. Anyone successfully manage to open the unit.  Do you need to turn the screws x number of times?  Thanks

Dan

It appears that the back cover swings open after you remove the screws that secure the stand.

Hi Dragon-Fur

I did look at those manuals.  The 2 philip screws do not come out.  If you turn them both half way then it will open the case at the bottom a tiny bit but still you can not lift the cover up/off the case. The left and right edge of the case is tightly held together with the screen.  The instructions do not say if you should be forcing the sides to pry loose by using something very thin to slide between the screen and side panels.  I obviously don't want to do that since it might crack the touch screen.

See this Solved Thread for the removal of the back cover:

I would guess there is an appropriate YouTube video that explains the disassembly - find one that matches your hardware.

I am sorry I cannot help further - I do not have access to the unit and cannot test it for you.
