HP ENVY 700-030qe
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an older HP desktop which still runs great. It came originally with a 12GB Recovery Image (D:) and Windows 8 which I basically have been ignoring over the years because I didn;t need the space on the core SSD drive it shared with the OS.

Over the years I have upgraded to the latest version of Windows 10 and would  now like to either reformat this partition to use for conventional storage, or preferably, remove the partition completely and just have the free space added to the C: drive which I can use.

What is the best, and safest, way to do this. I have multiple, current image backups for the C: drive which I update monthly.

Thanks.

Welcome to the HP Support Community @CDRowe

Most Recovery Partitions can be difficult to Delete.

Go to Disk Management and right click on the Recovery Image (D:)

Does it give the option to delete it???

Thanks for the reply.

No, it doesn't have an option to delete. The only option is 'Help' which just gets me to general Disk Management help topics.

Just as I thought @CDRowe

I have a glitch in a few images and I need to do this on everyone that I build.
