Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a hp pavilion desktop model p6-2115ea, the system sometimes fails to boot after being shut off, unless you also disconnect from mains. The system runs perfectly once up. I am looking to replace the power supply but have been unable to get the correct part number from HP on this matter, it seemed to best guess. Well my question is will any appropriate power rated ATX power fit in this box as long as all the connects for Sata and main board are same am I right in thinking there should not be a problem. Also does anyone know how to fit a second HDD to this box as there appears to be no facilities. Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi @Peterpies

Welcome to the HP Forum.

The symptom (having to disconnect from AC power) suggests a possible PSU problem or an intermittent component short.

The p6-2115ea is out of support so HP has pulled online documentation. No way to know what type of PSU the PC has.

The PSU could be ATX. Standard ATX PSU dimensions would be 150 mm width, 86 mm height, and typically 140 mm depth. Or 5.9 inches, 3.9 inches, 5.5 inches respectively.

A standard ATX power supply would have a 24 pin MB connector and possibly a four or four + four pin connector to the MB for CPU power.

Have a local PC tech check this if you are uncertain about the power supply.

I would have no idea if HP included mounts for additional drives in the chassis.

Regards
