I have received fantastic help from Mr. Paul Tikkanen with an HP Z420 that I purchased for our ministry earlier this year.
Earlier today I received a notice that my SAS driver was not working correctly. So I uninstalled it, hoping it would prompt me to re-download or update it.  However, it did not, and now I am having some issues with certain software not working as it should.
I would like to know where to locate the correct SAS driver for this desktop?
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Eric Wilson - Isaiah Ministries

Hi, Eric:

I explored the driver file I posted for you, and it does have driver support for the hardware ID you posted as indicated by this partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file:

[INTEL.NTamd64.6.1]
;Windows_7_x64 and later
%Intel_SAS_RAID.Desc% = Intel_SCU_iaStorS_Inst, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1D60&CC_0107
%Intel_SATA_RAID.Desc% = Intel_SCU_iaStorS_Inst, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1D61&CC_0107
%Intel_SAS_RAID.Desc% = Intel_SCU_iaStorS_Inst, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1D62&CC_0107
%Intel_SAS_RAID.Desc% = Intel_SCU_iaStorS_Inst, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1D63&CC_0107
%Intel_SAS_RAID.Desc% = Intel_SCU_iaStorS_Inst, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1D64&CC_0107
%Intel_SAS_RAID.Desc% = Intel_SCU_iaStorS_Inst, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1D65&CC_0107
%Intel_SAS_RAID.Desc% = Intel_SCU_iaStorS_Inst, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1D66&CC_0107
%Intel_SAS_RAID.Desc% = Intel_SCU_iaStorS_Inst, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1D67&CC_0107
%Intel_SAS_RAID.Desc% = Intel_SCU_iaStorS_Inst, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1D68&CC_0107
%Intel_SAS_RAID.Desc% = Intel_SCU_iaStorS_Inst, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1D69&CC_0107
%Intel_SATA_RAID.Desc% = Intel_SCU_iaStorS_Inst, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1D6A&CC_0107
%Intel_SATA_RAID.Desc% = Intel_SCU_iaStorS_Inst, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1D6B&CC_0107

So the only suggestion I can offer would be to try manually installing the driver as follows:

Click on the SAS controller needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.

Click on Update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for driver software' option and browse to the drive folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in D:\SWSetup\sp98398

Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install that way.

Hi, Eric:

This should be the W7 driver you need for the SAS Controller:

Good afternoon Paul,
I have downloaded the driver, but windows sends a warning that it was unable to install this driver. And in "Device Manager" it still shows there is a problem. When I try to update driver, windows tells me the same thing, "Windows could not find device software."  I have attached a photo.

Any ideas you may have are greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Hi, Eric:

Can you please post the hardware ID for the SAS controller that needs the driver?

Use this guide to find that information:

Good evening Paul,
Thank you for the link. I was able to locate the driver details you asked for,
and I have included it below.

Good evening Paul, Thank you . . . This fixed the problem. I am not sure why, but Windows said that the file was actually located in "C:|SWSetup\SP98398" instead of "D:\..." But by the grace of God and your help, the problem is now fixed. I sincerely thank you again for all of your help !
