OMEN by HP 25L Gaming Desktop PC GT15-0000i (3Y5U6AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I have a HP Omen 25L GT15-0709nd Desktop. The destkop is 2 years en 2 months old.

The desktop has an SSD Hard Drive: NVMe WD WD_BLACK Gen4 1 TB (SDCPNRY-1T00-1106).

Since a couple of weeks now I  get an error message via HP Support Assistant, that there is a storage failure en I may be have to replace the SSD Hard Drive. (smart-status: Pred Fail).

While in other tests the score is SDD health is 99%.

in the UEFI test I managed to get an 24-digid error code:  RU5BPS-BR5CS8-GXGK0J-60FW03.

Can you please help me? Do I need to replace the SSD Hard Drive (which is 2+ years old)?

If I have to by a new one, I then want to upgrade to a 2 TB hard drive. Must I then again by a WD ssd Hard drive?

HI BeemerBiker,

thank you for your response.

Yesterday I had good help from the HP support desk.

It seems my SSD (WD Black) had a lot of bad sectors just in almost 2.5 years and the advice was to replace it as soon as possible.  So I bought a new SSD and did a clean install. Now is everything working fine again.

Watch this video on how to get diagnostic information

Lookup any of the 24 character error codes here.

If your disk drive has been corrupted it can be repaired
if the PC can't even see it or if it's reported as defective then it needs to be replaced.

You may have two drives. One of them might be an M.2 SSD the other could be a hard drive HDD or just another SSD.
If you have more than one drive please make sure you identify the one that failed.

If a component fails during the UEFI test then Click here to check warranty
and replace the component.

Let me know what you find out.

You may find this KB article helpful.  There are firmware updates to various OEM SSDs.  Frequently they are available log before HP updates their own web pages./
