I am trying to upgrade this unit to an SSD drive. When installed, the SSD causes the system to hang/freeze on boot up. I cannot even get to the BIOS menus. I have installed all HP updates and am running the most current BIOS for the unit. The unit runs fine with the SATA drive.
I have seen a number of posts with the same issue, but I have not seen a resolution. Is there a setting change to be made in the BIOS? Other recommendations?
Thanks,
Dave

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
You are replacing a 3.5 inch SATA HDD with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD.
SATA should just work.
I have seen this behavior on some HP consumer desktop PCs in this forum.
I have not seen any solutions for this problem in this forum.
Regards

1) What brand of SSD and model number did you purchase?
2) How did you install WIN 10 on the SSD? With what program?

The clone works in another machine, just not the one I want it to work in!
I can't get to BIOS settings or any on-board settings for that matter.
When the drive was disconnected, I turned off security settings and even switched to Legacy boot up settings. Still hangs when you turn it on.
