I don't get why it doesn't work.

Maybe the crucial memory report is wrong and it only takes NVMe drives.

Some slots only take one or the other.

Hi:

According to the Crucial memory/SSD report for your PC, both SATA and NVMe M.2 SSD's are supported.

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/pavilion-570-p059

Go into the BIOS and see if the M.2 slot security setting is enabled.

Someone with a different model PC had the same issue, and the M.2 slot was disabled in the security setting by default.

in my slot security tab in the bios, there are three options:

one for the PCIe x16 slot and 2 for M.2, However I am unable to select the M.2 options to change them.

I can only change the pci slot security...

I wonder if you can't change the security setting if there is a device in the slot.

The wifi card would be in one of the M.2 slots, and if the wifi is working then that slot is enabled.

You might want to try removing the SSD and see if you can change the M.2 slot security setting for that slot if it is empty.

I was hoping that would be the issue, because I have no idea why that SSD isn't being seen in the BIOS otherwise.

the ssd is out, I tried all the bios settings wit it in and it out....ill try taking out the wifi as well to see if that changes anything.

Please do.

The newest BIOS I can find for your system is F.27. Probably wouldn't hurt to try. Here's a link:

Scroll to sp96584.exe

Is the WD SSD confirmed as working in another system?
