Hello, just purchased a Revolve G3 off Ebay and ad says a 256g SSD came with. Received laptop and ran diag on drive, no drive available. Went in BIOS/SYS Info, shows LITEON 256g. Removed back cover, SSD slot empty. Anybody have any idea? Is there an "internal" SSD on this laptop? Thx for the help.

Hi Wntrhwk, please note I am not an HP spokesperson. I volunteer my time and offer my knowledge to support fellow users. The only reason I am here is to assist others to try to resolve their HP upgrade and hardware issues.
What I would do if I were in your situation:
1.) Install a M2 SSD in your 810 G3 (or skip this),
2.) Using another PC, download this BIOS: 01.22 Rev.A for 64-bit W10 (assuming you want to install W10) from here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-elitebook-revolve-810-g3-tablet/7429241
3.) On the same PC, run sp102459.exe as Administrator, allow this App to make changes: "Yes", "Next", "I Accept", "Save files in folder": "Location to Save Files": change to your Downloads folder, "OK", "Next", "Create Recovery USB Flash Drive" -see pictures, "Finish".
4.) Eject USB flash drive and insert the flash drive with said BIOS upgrade into your 810 G3.
5.) Restart the 810 G3 and allow the BIOS flashing to complete.
Let me know how this works out for you.

The HP Resolve G3 has one M.2 SSD slot -please provide the exact model number of your tablet. If your BIOS/sys info says that you have a LITE-On 256GB SSD, that means you probably have this SSD installed: LITE-ON 256GB Internal SSD CV1-8B256 SSD SATA III 6Gb/s M.2 2280.

Thx for the reply. So you are saying the empty SSD slot is just for a second drive, that there is a "soldered" drive on the board? Why would the Diagnostic program not find a drive.

Hi Wntrhwk, please don't provide a s/n, just the product number...
What I am saying is that if your BIOS/SYS info shows a LITE-ON 256GB, there got to be an M.2 motherboard slot on your tablet with this M.2 SSD installed (not soldered), see picture:

I have the cover off, no SSD cards showing, nothing with a LITEON label like my current G1. When I look at the G3 manual it does not show 2 SSD slots, only one. I am still not sure why the HD Diag shows no drive installed. I can send you a pic of the bay, only room for one SSD drive.

Go to and open the UserGuide in this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-elitebook-revolve-810-g3-tablet/7429241/manuals
And you will find instructions how to access/replace the M2 SSD card.

Thx for the reply. This is a weird issue, never seen it before. The SSD slot is empty and the Sys Info show's a LITEON drive. I may try flashing a new BIOS, do you guys have a system for doing that on a machine with no OS?
