hp 23.8-inch LED Monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and had to buy a new monitor because my old one wasn't compatible and wasn't supported any longer.  The resolution of the monitor isn't right and I can't get it adjusted.

@denisedicken, here is what I would suggest.  Buy the following items:

1) video card

https://www.amazon.com/ViewMax-GeForce-Express-Support-WARRIOR/dp/B00NWQN7FY/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_lp_t_3?...

2) power supply

https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-VS400-Active-Supply-Certified/dp/B01MYNN9PL/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=15...

This would be the least expensive way to solve your problem and would increase the system performance.  The video card has the appropriate connectors and it is compatible with Win 10.  The maximum VGA resolution is 2048x1536.  If you have more questions about either product, you can contact the manufacturer's Tech Support.  They are the experts on their products.

@denisedicken, welcome to the forum.

What is the full model or product number of the monitor?  I need this information to review the specifications.  Please don't furnish the Serial # or other personal information.

Thank you for the additional information, @denisedicken.

The first thing that you should do is install the latest driver for Win 10 found here.  You will find it in the section titled "Driver-Display/Monitor".  It is from 2017, but is the latest.

I have already tried this and got an incompatability message, possibly because my monitor is LED instead of LCD.

@denisedicken, the driver should be compatible.

What is the make/model of the computer?

This is exactly what I needed.

It appears from everything that I have read that your problem is the incompatibility of the video device nVidia GeForce 6150SE nForce 430.  There is no Win 10 driver for it.
