Pavilion 500-516nc
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,
I bought an older HP Pavilion 500-516nc PC. In addition to the 2GB HDD, the PC also contains a 16GB SSD (both connected SATA). Windows 10 is installed.

I am planning a clean installation and I was looking for SSD setup.
It is not clear to me how the SSD is used here to increase performance.

Can anyone at least give me a hint of how to use SSD?

Thanks a lot

@MartinMi,

It is strictly a disk cache device.   https://www.wepc.com/tips/ssd-cache/

Use the built-in clean installer only.

Thank you for the explanation. I've retrieved the information, but I still can't get Intel RST up and running.

My procedure:
In the BIOS, switch the SATA controller to RAID mode
Install Windows 10 (current version 20H2) on the HDD
Install Intel RST driver and software

In Intel RST in the settings, however, in the Performance section I have no option to turn on acceleration. There is only information about Power Management (and the ability to turn on - off)

What do I need to do to turn on Intel RST?

The screenshot is on

  • device Manager
    - Intel Chipset SATA RAID Controller
  • disk manager
    - HDD 2TB - partition C: with installed system (Win10 20H2)
    - SSD 16GB - no partitions
  • Intel RST
    - there is no possibility to turn on acceleration

I read about the minimum SSD size of 18.4GB
Elsewhere (in older documents) was the minimum SSD size smaller ?GB
