Pavilion HPE
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi!

I have an old HP Pavillion HPE running Windows 10 Pro (64-bit).

The computer is running ok, but the hard drive is spinning (i.e., I hear the "noise").

What's wrong?

Thank you!

Dr. T

Normally HDD will spin and spin all its life when you power on your machine. Its age may cause noise when spinning.

all hdd make noise ,motor spins and sure does (unless in sleep mode) or off.

ear to casing sure.

sitting back never, have 3 hdd in mine, no sounds 3foot away.

but if HDD is mounted loose it can rattle,  just like on car loose license plate.

run smart tests on it would be wise.

if fails it is bad drive.  (parm C6 must be 0)
