Never raised the MBR vs GPT issue because you stated you cloned the original system disk (that works) to the Samsung SATA SSD. Logically, the partitioning scheme should be identical. AHCI is the correct drive controller interface.

 

I am not familiar with Clonezilla. I usually use Macrium Reflect free or Paragon free.

 

The MB does have a M.2 socket for storage devices.

So I wiped the ssd to do a clean install and still the same issue. So I installed a 1tb nvme into the slot and was visible in the bios. I cloned the HD over to the new nvme and changed the boot order to boot from the m.2 slot and now it works perfect. PC boots almost instantly.

Using the M.2 slot is what you should have done in the first place.

 

Now you can wipe the original disk and use it as additional storage.
