Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Aloha folks,

I currently have an S5- 1224 on my hands that was passed on to me from my father.

So far I was able to upgrade the stock g640 to a 3570 and maxed out the ram with 16GB 1333mhz.

My next hope is to upgrade from the HDD or at least get a faster boot drive of some sort. Is this possible?

I have the chance to purchase a low profile gigabyte 1650 locally and was wondering if this would be ok? I saw that most people put a 1030 in but want something a tad bit more powerful.

lastly, I know the psu is a about 220w, does any flex atx psu fit in the slimline? Or is there any other ski lines that come with a higher wattage psu that may fit?

I know this is a super old and almost obsolete comp but I’m really hoping I can keep this thing going and possibly pass it on to my little nephew who plays Fortnite.

any help or suggestions with any upgrades will be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

Justin

The motherboard is a standard uatx.  I guess if you get a larger case you could put a bigger atx power supply in it which allow a modern Gen2 graphics board.

For about $60 you could put in a fast SSD such as WD blue

I recommend you do not spend any more money on it. Try the latest Ubuntu and use it as a safe surfing system.
