A bug does sound about right. I am happy to hear that it isn't diminishing your Christmas season cheer.
I did find more information on the fTPM (firmware TPM) that might just resolve your issue.
See this firmware update. It is relevant to your TPM issue and specific to your PC.

Back up everything to an external storage device before doing this!
