How do you know the IDT High-Definition Audio Device has a hardware failure?
Did you run the F2 hardware diagnostics test?
Generally, the IDT audio quits working on W10 due to missing the actual W10 IDT audio driver which was never offered for your PC by HP.
Before you look for a PCIe x1 audio card, see if installing the W10 IDT audio driver gets the sound to work again.

Restart the PC after installing the driver.

Thank you for the follow up. I got error message saying device not functioning. I could not find device to install driver. This all happened after Win 10 did updates. I will install the driver you provided and see how that goes. Thank you very much!
