I received this message last night. The CPU was not on very long at this time (maybe 15 minutes). I've actually left the CPU on all day many, many times and never had this issue. Not just on but active up to 8 hours a day at a time.
The difference yesterday was I was trying to adjust settings on my router/modem to allow my Playstation to accept ping. I turned on the "Respond to ping" setting on the modem and this fixed the problem with the Playstation. Since it was not recommended to turn on "Respond to ping" , I turned it back off once they were done gaming. I did that twice during the day and into the night. After I turned it off the second time is when I received the message.
I'd like to know if it was due to the ping thing or is this just a coincidence.
I too have the same OS as most posted here and a Pavilion 590.

I finally sent my desktop to HP for warranty service. They reseated all connections and upgraded to the latest BIOS.
I have not had the issue since (it's been about 5 weeks). I'm of the opinion that the BIOS upgrade fixed the false alarms.
