I am unable to connect the Transmitter and the Reciever.  I even got a new transmitter shipped to my by HP.  But I am still getting a message saying "Please Activate Registration on Transmitter Unit"  Don't know how to do that and there are no instructions anywhere to fix this.  Almost ready to return this product back to HP.

It appears that the transmitter and receiver are not paired.  I think the quick start guide may have some instructions on how to add a device?

During the Adding Video source process, the on screen display will say “Please activate Registration on Transmitter Unit”, when you see that, press the button on the back of the transmitter and hold it for a 2-3 seconds or until the light goes solid.

Do you know the product number.  It would help me find some info for you that may be helpful.

Thanks for the advice.  So now the transmitter and the receiver are paired, but now i have this problem.

What is on my current computer screen is not what is showing on the television.  The television shows my wallpaper, but doesn't have any of the desktop icons, or even any of the open windows that my computer screen is showing.  Is there something that I can do about that?

Great, glad to hear that it's paired now!

It sounds like your system is configured for an "extended desktop", where what you want is to "duplicate your display".  I'm not sure of your exact system, (operating system, graphics card, etc), but at a high-level you want to go into your display settings and switch from extended desktop (treating your PC monitor plus the HDMI-out as one big display) to duplicate display (showing the same thing on both displays).

Thanks,

Dave

Hi,

When I connect the different devices, on the TV this sign appears "Connected to PC adapter, Please check video source"

What does that suppose to mean and why the pictures does not want to appear on the TV?

Hi, from your description, it sounds like the transmitter and receiver are paired (since it says it's connected to the PC adapter).  In this case, it sounds like the transmitting side is not actually sending any video out of the HDMI port.  Are you sure that the PC that the transmitter is connected to is configured to output video to the HDMI port?

Depending upon your PC, it might have some keyboard keys that activiate the HDMI video port, or perhaps some software on the PC needs to be configured to activate the HDMI port?

Hope that this helps,

Dave

Hi I have a similar problem at first everything works like a charm but then after about 1-3 minutes the screen goes black and no sound comes either. Sometimes it displays the sentence: Connected to PC adapter, please Check video source. The link lights are showing blue and it definitely is connected. But why does it cut off the transmitting the sound and picture? When you take out the transmitter for a while and plug it back in it works for a while may be 20 secs then it goes black again. does it overheat? or what.

The after a while the screen goes totally black. (probably sleep mode or similar) but there definitely is a connection but it does not send or receive the image and wont wake the receiver...

please let me know how I can fix the issue.
