Had a similar problem. Reduce the frequency of the display, for example, up to 30 Hz (1920 to 1080p @ 30 Hz).
Looks like we have here HDCP incorrect operation at higher frequencies, so a pair of transmiter and receiver are torn.
Now my hardware is stable (HP Pavilion dv6 --> HP Wireless Tv --> HK AVR347 --> Toshiba 32RL955).

I have exactly the same problem as a previous poster, the devices are connecting correctly when plugged in and the display on the pc is viewed on the TV. After 1-2 minutes the TV screen goes black and the message "connected to pc adapter. Please check video source" .
Please Help!

I am having same issue. When I connect device is shows a connection but I do not have video source. IN addiiton, my sound no longer works when I plug in device. I am sure HDMI works as I can connect an HDMI cable to the PC and run it across the floor to my monitor and it displays perfectly?
Is there any other troubleshooting steps I can perform to get my Hp Pavilion DV7 to work with my HP Wirelss TV connect 2.0.
I tried to call HP support and they wanted me to pay for a service and support contract that was more than the cost of the device in order for them to help me?
I hate to send it back if it is just a settings adjustment?

SOLVED FOR ME:
I had all of the same problems and here is what I found on my new HP Envy with Windows 8 for my 3 problems:
1. The pairing kept cutting off during the linking process - watch for the blinking blue light to be sure it is in pairing mode. If not, then press down on the end of the transmitter until the blue light flashes again. It took a long time for mine to link, but then it stayed "connected to pc adapter" through other steps.
2. I then got "Please Activate Registration on Transmitter Unit" - that was solved as previously posted - by holding the end of the transmitter down until the message changed.
3. Finally I get the black screen with the floating message "Connected to PC adapter, Please check video source" - I fixed all my sharing options and then the media center showed up in my devices, but no fix. I went to my security and checked my firewall and my additional media sharing from my network showed up also. Still no fix until I went to my display and checked the dual display settings in the "Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel" and went through the wizard .... I found my tv was set as primary display and the computer at secondary. I switched them and all is good!
HOPE THIS HELPED SOMEONE!!
NOW I JUST NEED TO WORK ON THE QUALITY OF THE DISPLAY!!! ALL THIS BLACK TYPING IS DISPLAYING AS MULTI-COLORED!!!!!

ok postings have suggested holding the button on the end down for 2-3 seconds and also holding it down until the message on the receiver goes away...which is it?
My unit got unpaired by a student (that probably has ADHD) and now I can't get it paired back. I've tried both ways and have even sat on the HP support line for a couple hours only to get a Tier 1 tech support person that barely spoke english that couldn't figure out the difference between this product and a PC, only to have them tell me to go back to where I purchased it from and exchange it....too late, it's within the 1 year HP warranty but outside the 30 day Amazon exchange policy...
The unit did work until the student started in on it...why can't I get the two units paired again?

IN RESPONSE TO 2012-04-19 09:35 AM BY DAVID H ... SWITCHING TO DUPLICATE DISPLAY:
Extended works fine too, but you have to reduce the size of the window on your laptop/desktop that the movie is in first and slide it across your screen until it shows up on the tv. It has to be entirely on the tv screen before returning it to full screen or it will pop back onto the laptop/desktop.

Having same issue w/ win 8.1. Very annoying to have to go back to a cable! There is a guy who got his working by going into the properties tab in the device screen and disabling the device but that didn't work for me.
