Trying to upgrade to Win 11.  I'm unable to determine whether I have UEFI or TPM 2.0 on my BOIS version J61 v03.50.   In BIOS, there is a UEFI category, but when I click on it, nothing opens.  Running a Microsoft test, it shows no TPM 2.0 on my machine.  My question is, if I do not have the required programs to install Win 11, can I get them from the HP website and install them myself?

All help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Your PC's model series does not support a TPM firmware upgrade to 2.0 and even if it did, none of the processors offered in the model series meet Microsoft's minimum W11 processor requirements.

Windows processor requirements Windows 11 supported Intel processors | Microsoft Learn

Your PC should be able to run W11 just fine but you would need to use a workaround that bypasses the W11 hardware checks so you can upgrade from W10>W11.

If you are interested in doing that watch this video for a very easy way to do the upgrade:

You can check if your PC has Windows installed in UEFI mode by running the Windows system information app.

Check the BIOS Mode line.  It should be on UEFI.

Paul,

Thanks for the info.  I kind of thought that it would not be that easy.  MS told me I could get the update if the BIOS supports the TPM 2.0.   Since it does not, if I used the workaround, do you think MS would allow a free download?  Thanks for your help

You're very welcome.

Yes, watch the video, download the W11 ISO file (3rd option at the link below).

Download Windows 11
