HP Pavilion All-in-One - 23-q214
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Pavilion All-in-One - 23-q214, and the processor is not compatible with the Windows 11 updates. I have been told that I can upgrade my CPU, but I don't know which CPU I would need. My computer still runs very well, and I don't want to replace it unless absolutely necessary. Which CPU would I need to upgrade to?

@tlelder94 , welcome to the Community.

Here are the Product Specifications for the computer.  If you look at the section titled "Processor upgrade information" you will find a list of compatible processors.  You can check to see if any of them is compatible with Win 11.  Make certain that there is a processor socket on the motherboard before buying a new processor.  Some AIO motherboards have the processor soldered to the motherboard.  It doesn't state this in the Specifications, but I don't want you to buy a component that won't work.  It is always better to be safe rather than sorry. 😉

Hi, @tlelder94

There are no W11-supported processors you can install to make your PC meet Microsoft's minimum W11 Intel processor requirements of an 8th generation or newer processor.

If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2.

You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.
