Pavilion 500-326na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have an HP Pavilion 500-326na which is about 5 years old and working fine and would like to upgrade the hard drive to an NVME SSD.

I understand this needs an M.2 slot on the motherboard.

The motherboard supplied is an Orchid-S.

on the Orchid-S specification I can find no reference to M.2 slots only PCI-and now I am getting out of my depth I'm afraid-and I was doing so well!

I suspect that maybe because the motherboard is too old but does anyone know if this can be upgraded. I did try a Crucial 2.5" Sata drive but it kept freezing for some reason and I swapped it in and out so many times the SATA connector fell off-hence my plan of using an NVME.

I did notice that Kingson call their SSD NVME PCIe which I think mine has a slot called PCIe, so is this encouraging?

Sorry if this makes me seem dumb-I am IT literate but only to a happy amateur level.

Thanks for reading this

Hi:

Unfortunately, you would not be able to upgrade to any M.2 SSD SATA or NVMe.

If you broke the connector on the drive, then you can just order a different brand.

I have had great success with this model across several of my HP desktops and notebook PC's and my Dell OptiPlex desktop PC.
