I have a HP Notebook 14s-dq1508sa and would like to buy SK hynix / IBM 8GB DDR4-2133MT/s but I don't know if it's compatible

No, that memory chip would not be compatible.

You have to use either an 8 GB DDR4-2666 CL19 memory chip or a DDR4-3200 CL22 memory chip.

Something like this:

Timetec 8GB DDR4 2666MHz (DDR4-2666) PC4-21300 ((PC4-2666V) Non-ECC Unbuffered 1.2V CL19 1Rx8 Single...

The DDR4-3200 memory chip would automatically bridge to 2666 MHz.

so I'm guessing 8 GB PC19200 DDR4 2400MHz 288 Pin Memory wouldn't work either

That is correct.

Your notebook's processor runs the memory at 2666 MHz.

Installing slower memory will either not work or 'bottleneck' the system (slow it down).

Alright thanks, finish question is 16GB Server Registered DDR3 Memory RAM DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800R) good. It's 16gb however it's ddr3 and the MHz is very low

You're very welcome.

Consumer class notebooks can't use server memory since it is ECC.

They all use non-ECC memory and a DDR3 memory chip wouldn't even fit in your notebook's memory slot since the notch in the memory chip is cut in a different place than it is on a DDR4 memory chip.
