Hello dear community,

I would like to upgrade my PC.

Its model number is: tpc-f124-mt.

The motherboards ID is:
8906

CPU:
Ryzen 5600G

RAM:
8GB; I currently upgraded it to 32GB.

PSU:
310W Gold PSU

GPU:
IGPU from Ryzen 5600G

Now I ordered a, what I thought fitting, PSU.
A TX700 Gold from Silverstone.
https://www.silverstonetek.com/en/product/info/power-supplies/TX700Gold/

But this one is a bit smaller than the original 310W Gold PSU from HP and it comes with a 24 pin connector, the motherboard, if I see that correctly gets from the original HP-PSU only a 4Pin CPU_PWR, a 4Pin SYS_PWR and a PWRCMD P2 connector.
So I assume the TX700 would be incompatible, or exist there any adapters I could use?

I chose the 700W PSU, because I wanted to install a Geforce 4060 TI (Nvidia recommends 550W at least).

Here someone mentioned to use only specific cables from the 24pin connector for the PWRCMD connection:
https://www.reddit.com/r/AskElectronics/comments/11c063f/comment/ld9oxb7/
But don't really know if I should go that way.

Can I somehow safely connect the TX700 with the motherboard or exists there an HP-PSU alternative with ~700W?
I guess 600W or 650W would also work, but for future upgrades I thought 700W would be enough.
Or do you might have even other PSU recommendations?

I would still like to stick to the Geforce 4060TI.

Thanks in advance for taking a look.

Edit: I attached a picture of the PWRCMD, it has a green, grey and a black cable from the HP-PSU.

@bertDio,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Your HP desktop Gaming PC TPC-F124-MT as fitted with an Erica6 motherboard (SSID: 8906) can be upgraded with this proprietary HP 500-watt power supply with p/n: L05757-800.  Your PC is not compatible with TFX/ATX power supplies, and there are no TFX/ATX power adapters available either.

I would recommend a smaller-sized (dual fan) RTX 4060 Ti powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable, such as this model: ASUS DUAL RTX 4060 Ti OC Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database.  This 160-watt TDP graphics card can comfortably be powered by a 500-watt power supply.

Thank you very much for the fast reply.

That's very good to hear, I thought the 550W applies to every 4060 TI model.

And that's exactly the one I ordered, although in white: DUAL-RTX4060TI-O8G-WHITE

Many thanks for the linked webpage, they say indeed 450W would be enough. I will bookmark this page for future upgrades.

I hope the bigger PSU will fit, the PC case wasn't the black one of the gaming edition, it was this silver one:

I will measure it tomorrow.

@bertDio,

No worries: the bigger power supply will fit just fine, just like it did with my most recent HP Pavilion TP01-3003W upgrade project -very similar to yours:

Thanks again.

I somehow thought to put the PSU horizontally into the case instead of vertically XD

I guess I found the right PSU here:
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0CLV5VWQL

But the brand is S-Union, I saw no HP-Logo. Do you know S-Union by any chance?

I haven't found any other sources where I could get that PSU to ship to Germany.

And btw. nice project you have there. So I assume this 650W would probably work, too?:
https://www.ebay.de/itm/266786883208
But it also doesn't have a HP-Logo.

Edit:

Found a original HP 500W PSU and much cheaper on ebay than the one on amazon:

https://www.ebay.de/itm/126625636089

Or do you know other sellers for the 500W PSU?

@bertDio,

These power supplies don't need to be HP-branded.

HP either licenses or outsources pretty much all of their power supplies anyway.

In short: you are good to go -either with the 500-watt or 650-watt power supply.
