Hi@all
I would like to upgrade a few HP PCs from 2018 to Windows 11, more precisely 4HN12EA (8GB, Ryzen 2400G - 65W CPU, SSD, TPM2.0, B350FCH chipset..).
Windows Update says: Not upgradeable
AMD says: CPU not suitable for 11
Have any of you used a new CPU to get THIS or a SIMILAR configuration to run Windows 11? The smallest available (due to TDP) would be a 3400G, costing 115€, which wouldn't shock me if it was a bad buy, but in that case I could save myself replacing five PCs at a time, which I really don't want to see as e-waste due to their age.
HP does offer 11-series drivers, but I wonder why!
There are indeed 2000 CPUs, but all without graphics, which I would then have to upgrade to an alternative 3400G CPU.
Has anyone had any experience with this combination?
Best regards,
Carsten

There are ways to disable all the hardware checks of WIn11 and install it on any hardware. There are also unofficial Windows 11 version with all the mods include but I guess this is beyond the scope of the forum you can search on your own and you will find these. Just use them at your own risk

Hi, @Cardisch2
It is not beyond the scope of this forum to provide information such as how to install W11 skipping the hardware checks since it is not illegal to do so.
Microsoft themselves even provide guidance for doing this, but they don't recommend it.
I have been running W11 on many unsupported PC's since it has come out and never had any issues.
Personally, I would not spend anything to upgrade the hardware.
The HP EliteDesk 705 G4 Microtower Business PC series, barely missed the cut to be supported for W11.

That is why there are no W11 drivers for the model series.
If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2/22h3
You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.
As far as processor upgrades, the lowest model processor that appears to be supported in your PC based on the below database is the Ryzen 7 Pro 2700, and that requires a discrete graphics card be added to each PC.
UserBenchmark: HP EliteDesk 705 G4 MT Compatible Components
The Ryzen 7 Pro is on Microsoft's list of supported W11 processors, and the TDP is 65W.

My recommendation to you would be to try the W11 hardware check bypass on one of the PC's and test drive it for a while.
You get all the updates, etc. I have not found any problems with my PC's on W11, some are as old as from 2008.
