Can I upgrade the video (install a video card) without replacing the power supply?  I don't need a gaming video card - just something more powerful than the integrated video.  A photo editing program I use can take advantage of the gpu for image analysis, sharpening, etc.

What specs (power, slot, etc) do I need to look for?

@Eialbur , welcome to the Community.

Here is a video card that should run with your 310W PSU: https://www.newegg.com/msi-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-gtx-1050-ti-4gt-oc/p/N82E16814137055

Also, here is a HP Knowledge Base article that will explain what to consider when upgrading the video card.  Your system meets all of the requirements.  The main thing to consider is the length of the card.  It should fit, but do the measurements.
