Unfortunately, the BIOS is locked down.

You can't do that on any HP business desktop  PC what the guy in the video showed.

Bye the way I did read in another post to take the HHD out and the boot to f10 would i have acess then?

Unfortunately, I don't have any idea how to change the memory speed, and I doubt removing the hard drive will make a difference.

However, it won't hurt anything if you want to unplug the connectors from the hard drive and try it.

Lots has happened since the last post my mother board arrived and i installed it in the 8200 sff and put the old HHD back in there; it was a simple process and eveything works just great; amazing.Any way while I had the hard drive out of the other 8300 I purchased on Ebay i check looking for a BiOS update screen no luck like you said.So then i did an F10 on the new board in the 8200 and guess what it's running at 1333mhz although there is $x$GB 1600mhz 12800 ram in there so now I really don't understand I'll try calling HP and see if they can give me an answer unless you have any other idea that guy in the video seemed to have the right answer that 1333mhz is the default setting but if HP bios are locked there is no way a home consumer can make changes any way I'll wait to hear from you before calling HP.Tks for all you help sofar!!!

You're very welcome.

I guess that guy must be right, but it makes no sense!

In any event, there is no way to unlock the BIOS that I know of to change the memory speed.

Well I got the Bios upgraded in the 8200 with the 8300 mother board it was running 2.99 bios so when I down loaded sp77888 it went into a file on my c drive SWSETUP when I opened it; it showed all the files & I clicked HPQFlash and it down loaded and updated automaticly no problem re-start and done. But when I tried the same thing on the other 8300 I bought on line refurbished it didn't work I had down loaded sp73099(BIOS 2.99) and sp77888(BIOS 3.04) because 2.99 needs to be installed first anyway I keep getting a red warning saying User Account control This app has been blocked for your protection An adminstrator has blocked you from running this app Publisher Unkown (then the app hame and position on the c drive) do you know how to unblock it I've been trying for 2 days searching the internet for adminstrator settings etc.no luck?TKS Richard

I would use the F10 BIOS flash method.

That is the only suggestion I can offer.
