@gettigo , welcome to the Community.
Here are the Product Specifications for the computer. You should look at the sections titled "Processor upgrade information" and "Memory upgrade information". There is a list of compatible processors and the specifications for memory upgrades. The motherboard has Dual channel memory architecture. Therefore, it is best to add memory in matched pairs to get maximum performance. The maximum memory is 16 GB.
You can add a discrete video card for better performance. This means that you will have to upgrade the power supply unit (PSU), also. The current PSU is only 300W. Here is a HP Knowledge Base article that will explain what to consider when adding or upgrading a video card.
