Newbie here I have an old HP Compaq DC7800 CMT desktop that I'm trying to upgrade so that it can be faster and up to date. I was wondering what hardware can I buy that will work with my motherboard and be able to support the upgrades? I have a copy of DC7800 quick specs but I was wondering if I can go beyond what they have listed on the specs?
It's running windows 7 64 bit but can I run windows 10?
It's my first rebuild or build so I'm kinda new at this but so far I've added or it has:
AMD Radeon HD 6570 1GB video card.
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 processor.
8GB 4×2GB RAM in memory istalled.
WD velociraptor 160GB 10000 RPM HD.
HP Super DVD Writer.
Are any of these upgradeable or worth upgrading? I definitely wouldn't mind installing or having a better hard drive possibly a SSD, more Ram memory, or better processor if possible?
I don't have a wireless adapter for wifi I've been using a ethernet cable but was considering getting a PCI Adapter but wasn't sure out of these 3 choices what would be compatible or best?
Linksys Wireless-G WMP54G PCI Adapter or
HP Wireless A+G PCI NCI Adapter 391866-002 or
Belkin F6D3000 Dual-Band 802.11A/G PCI Adapter
Or is there a better PCI Adapter that I should get?
I'm really excited to get this tower up going please help and thanks so much in advance!

Hi:
I have a dc7800 CMT, and it runs W10 pro 64 bit just fine.
Mine has the E8300 processor (came with it originally), 8 GB of PC2-6400 memory, Radeon HD 6570, and a 240 GB Sandisk SSD Ultra SSD.
You cannot go beyond 4 x 2 GB of memory.
With the last BIOS release (v1.35), you can now set the drive controller to AHCI.
The previous options were IDE and RAID only.
If you want to add an internal wifi adapter, I would get this one...
It should come with a cable to connect to the internal USB port on the motherboard to the pins on the edge of the card..
The port on the motherboard is labeled Media Card. It has 9 pins sticking up from the socket.
That will enable the Bluetooth to work.

You're very welcome.
You can most likely still get the free upgrade to W10 Pro. Watch this video...

Then click on the blue Update Now button at the link below.

Thank you once again for the info! Also I found this on Amazon

What's the difference between
N4G85AA and N4G85AT? Is one better than the other? Does it have to do with compatibility? Or is one newer than the other? Not really on a budget but if I can save a few bucks why not 😂 thanks in advance!
