@ImNotaProAtPc,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

There is a compatible 400-watt power supply upgrade available for your HP ProDesk 600 G3/G4 MT, with part number: 942332-001.  This power supply is available online, such as via AliExpress.  I installed that power supply in my HP ProDesk 600 G3 MT, as it was one of my upgrade projects.

This power supply is equipped with one 6+2-pin PCIe power cable, and you could upgrade your graphics card to a smaller-sized (two-fan) RTX 4060 model (powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable), for example.

Hope this was helpful.

that was a really helpful answer ty btw , and i found a 250w psu in my local store i searched for it on google and yt and i found that it can handle the gt 1030 , next target is the 1030 . is it a good move or i'll wait until i'll get a good psu like a 300w one or 350w ??? 😅

@ImNotaProAtPc,

A GT 1030 is a very low-performing graphics card.  With a 250-watt power supply, you can power much better cards, such as a GTX 1050 Ti or a GTX 1650. Neither of these cards require a PCIe power cable.

Like I mentioned in my previous post, the 400-watt power supply is the next step up.

@ImNotaProAtPc,

Your desktop can power an RX 460, and this graphics card is better than either a GT 1030 or a GTX 750 Ti.

@ImNotaProAtPc,

Yes, a 250-watt power supply should be able to power a GTX 1050 Ti, which has a 75-watt TDP.

Some GTX 1050 Ti models requires a 6-pin PCIe power cable.  If your power supply doesn't have a 6-pin PCIe power cable, you can use a dual 15-pin SATA power to 6-pin PCIe power adapter cable, which looks like this:

You plug in the two SATA power cables to two SATA cables from your power supply, and the 6-pin PCIe power cable is plugged in to the graphics card.
