Hey guys, I am feeling a bit stumped with trying to upgrading my power supply on my HP Prodesk 600 G6. I cannot figure out which motherboard is in it, All I could figure out on it was that it was product # 8712. I know it uses the proprietary mobo and psu, and I know this model was also configurable with higher wattage psu's. Currently has the L70042-002 180W psu in it, but would like to upgrade to at least 400W to support the Geforce GT 1030 I plan on putting in the case as the integrated graphics are terrible. Any and all help would be fantastic.

@markalt99 -- according to: HP PartSurfer (click this link!) HP has 623 (!!!) models of the "Prodesk 600 G6".
To search each listing for that "8712" model-number would be quite a task.
Currently has the L70042-002 180W psu ...
I have seen this product-ID several times within this discussion forum, in conjunction with similar "how can I upgrade my PSU" questions. So, please do a search within this forum, and read a few of the other threads.

Yes I understand that there are other forums talking about this specific psu and upgrades and I did about two hours of researching and checking out the 400W L04618-800 and the 500W L05757-800, but they were all in Envy or Pavillion machines, nothing prodesk related. So yes any other help would be fantastic. Base specs of the PC are i5-10500 with 16gb ram and intel UHD 630 graphics if anyone else is willing to help me out.

hi @markalt99
you should specify what exactly your model is
because, in function, there will probably not be the same possibilities
see for example, this model, which is well indicated to him that can be with a 500w power supply
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-prodesk-600-g6-pci-microtower-pc/37884577
HP ProDesk 600 and 680 G6 PCI Microtower PC Specifications
550 W active PFC
we will therefore find this model for example
Product Number: 216A1ES
Description: HP ProDesk 600 G6 Microtower PC (9CF30AV)
M09864-001 | SKO-PSU 550W MT ENTM20 EPA92 +12V |
but But it will certainly not go with all models!

Sorry for the delay reply, but I decided to go with the 400W L04618-800 as it was half of the cost of the 550W, so far it is working for the PC and for the GPU that I have put in there. Thank you so much for the help, hope some ProDesk users have more insight of what they can do.
