Hp envy 700 311na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi I am wanting to upgrade the graphics card and the power supply for my hp envy 700 311na. Is this possible?

Also will the ram slots prevent my gpu from installing? The ram slots are pretty close to the pcie x16 slot.

@Rufus17,

Welcome to our peer-to-peer HP Community Forum!

That would be a solid "YES" to both your questions.

Your HP ENVY 700-311na Desktop PC (G9B05EA) is fitted with an MS-7826 Kaili motherboard (SSID: 2AF3) which is 24-pin ATX-power enabled, meaning, you can swap your 500-watt stock power supply with a more powerful ATX power supply, as long as you watch its dimensions (LxWxH) for fit inside your desktop.

Consider this UserBenchMark HP 700-311na User who has fitted an RTX 3070 in their rig: HP 700-311na Performance Results - UserBenchmark.  It is unclear whether this User upgraded the power supply, or if the 500-watt stock PSU is able to power the RTX 3070.

Other HP Envy 700-311na rigs are seen fitted with a GTX 1080 Ti, GTX 1080, and GTX 1070 Ti: UserBenchmark: HP 700-311na Compatible Components.

At least from what I can see, your motherboard should be able to accommodate larger graphics cards without interference from your RAM:

Another observation: your highly upgradeable desktop is compatible with an i7-4790K (4.00 GHz up to 4.40 GHz, 4-Cores, 8-Threads, 88-watt TDP), which performs remarkably well gaming-wise, as I found out by fitting this bad boy aptly named "Devil's Canyon" in an HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Tower: Solved: Upgrading an HP EliteDesk 800 G1 TWR - HP Support Community - 8851089.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
