HP Slim Desktop - S01-PF1013w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi I have a HP Slim Desktop - S01-PF1013w and want to increase the memory, I currently have 4gb of SK Hynix DDr4 2667 (1333mhz) can I just add a module or do they have to be installed in pairs.

Like 2 Hynix or 2 Cruciial or whichever but paired which is better a single 8gb or 2 4gb modules

Thanks

Well it depends
You can try the addition, but on condition that the new one is as close as possible
sometimes this can help:

CPU-Z | Softwares | CPUID
otherwise, you will have to buy the same

In some cases no old and new problem work together, but sometimes the new one can only work alone, if at all!

  • Dual channel memory architecture (One DIMM per channel)
  • Two DDR4 SODIMM (288-pin) sockets
  • Supports PC4-21300 (DDR4-2666) and up to PC4-23400 (DDR4-2933) for Core i7-10700 and i7-10700F
  • Supports 4 GB and 8 GB DDR4 SODIMMs
  • Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems
    note:
32-bit systems cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory.
Supports up to 32 GB (unbuffered) with two 16 GB DIMMs on 64-bit systems
note:
Maximum memory shown reflects the capability of the hardware and can be limited further in the operating s

to take full advantage of the dual channel you should install install 2 * 4 gb
see better 2 * 8gb
