HP Pavilion 500-550nv
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hello. I have HP Pavilion 500-550nv (which case is microtower), and want to upgrade my HP power supply which is only 180 W!!!

I wanna know which brand name power supply is supported for my pc model (hp pavilion 500-550nv) and how much wattage recommended (up to 600? up to 650?). Which is the recommended limit of power supply wattage for my HP??

I am waiting for your answers. Thanks

Hello @jeandoumpier,

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! The forums are a great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community!

I read your post about the Power Supply, and wanted to assist you!  I understand that you are concerned about upgrade options.

You should be able to upgrade the Power Supply as you like.  The desktop should take however much power it needs, from the Power Supply that is installed.  Just verify that the Power Supply you want to use, will securely fit into the tower.  Based on the Product Specifications, you can find the tower dimensions here:

  • Height: 36.7 cm (14.48 inches) unpacked

  • Width: 17.5 cm (6.91 inches) unpacked

  • Length: 38.9 cm (15.35 inches) unpacked
