@Jaiverson_Paya,

Btw, the fastest processor compatible with your HP 6200 Pro MT is the i7-2700K as verified here, for example: HP Compaq 6200 Pro MT PC Performance Results - UserBenchmark.

Your desktop is also compatible with Xeon processors, such as the Xeon E3-1270.  This is verified by this User, for example: HP Compaq 6200 Pro MT PC Performance Results - UserBenchmark.

Now, according to this reference table: CPU-Upgrade: Intel Xeon E3-1270 CPU, chances are your desktop is also compatible with the Xeon E3-1290. I am not completely sure about this, but I tried the Xeon equivalent for my HP 6300 Pro SFF as shown in my previous post -the Xeon E3-1290 v2, and it sure works A-OK:

Please understand that going to this level of Upgrade dedication (obsession?) is going to be pricey.  It is not for everybody. But doggonit: it can be done -where few if any have gone before.

Kind Regards,

Hi Jaiverson, Yes the cable worked perfectly & it is needed as my mobo only has a 4 pin main power socket not the 24 pin header. I put in a Corsair cx450m with the COmeap adapter cable, had a big hole where the old PSU was & no exhaust fan anymore so I stuck a Noctua PWM fan on the same line as the intake one & got fabulous airflow out of the back. It works great!

Hi Your adapter looks a little different from the one they sell in my country(Colombia It's hard to get very specific IT articles with this one)

, yours has 5 cables connected to the white head and this one only has 4, it would work normally, my model is not the Reduced form factor is the microtower and its original power supply has 5 cables in the white part that connects to the board

Hi Jaiverson. yes the picture is different as the last 2 wires in my p2 plug are jumped out. My original plug had only 4 wires. one white & the last 2 slots being empty. This plug has only 3 wires & a jumper.. It works fine on my pc The description does say that it will work with the Compaq 6200 mid tower but I don`t know if that applies to a 6200 PRO mt.COMeap adapter.jpg

I'm going to try it I'll update again in the post to say if it worked or I screwed up the board🙃 but I promise it will work .Some vendors with the same cable claim that it works with the 6200 pro
