I have a 14 bs577tu  model which has a M2.sata slot. Can I insert a M2.sata drive and still run my existing Hard drive as extra storage?

Hi:

You should be able to, but you will need to remove windows from the 2.5" drive, since the notebook will always want to boot from the 2.5" drive first.

Below is the link to the service manual.    See chapter 1.

The M.2 slot only supports SATA drives, not NVMe, and it does show that dual storage configurations are supported.
