OMEN 30L Desktop - GT13-0024

I'd like to upgrade my RAM (16 to 32GB) on my HP Omen 30L. It currently has Hyperx Fury ram. I see the following that is a newer version of an existing recommendation (Amazon said this is a new version.)..as follows:

Kingston Fury Beast RGB 32GB 3733MT/s DDR4 CL19 DIMM (Kit of 2) 1Gx8 Computer Memory KF437C19BB12AK2/32

I think this would work fine, but I'd like to confirm if you can.

Also, could this computer use DDR5 RAM vs the current DDR4?

Thank you for your help!

"could this computer use DDR5 RAM vs the current DDR4?"

That is a no!  I would not attempt  that if I were you. If you try to make it fit, that will break the UDIMM slot.

Motherboard specifications

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_4124804-1867679-16

The memory specification for your PC is

  • Hyper X XMP
    Speed: PC4-25600 MB/s
  • Type: DDR4-3200

Had you considered finding an additional module that is identical to the one already in your motherboard?

That is your best and most cost effective solution. It will work properly the first time.

Erico, thanks for your response. OK, no DDR5.

I don't know what you mean by a new module...do you mean to add 2 additional slots for RAM?

Based on the memory specs I found these ..HyperX FURY 16GB DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model HX432C16FB3/16. I hope these would fit and may be the easiest for me to install. Thought?

No.

I meant install the new modules as a pair when upgrading.

I just read my reply again and don't quite understand your question. Kindly rephrase it so it will be clearer to me.

If those memory modules are recommended by Kingston, sure. If they are just modules you just like for some reason, I wouldn't use them

I am a believer in buying modules that are guaranteed to work. My time is valuable and I prefer no added frustration..
