Any help would be greatly appreciated! My husband and I used to be pretty big gamers, though we mainly dabbled in consoles rather than computers. We have two games that run just fine on our computer, but we both discovered that they would run better with 16 GB (Diablo IV for him and Baldur's Gate 3 for me). I'm seeing that it is possible to do, I just don't know which parts to buy and I'm needing a little help with that. I've worked with fixing console parts before (I had to fix several controllers for drift and stuff, which isn't me bragging just that I know some smaller things) and I was hoping I could just upgrade this computer. This isn't really urgent, but sometimes it would be nice if cutscenes didn't have a clear lag to them. Thanks again! 🙂

From what I could find, that model could have either the Mercedes motherboard or the Micaela motherboard but both use
Two DDR4 SODIMM (260-pin) sockets and
Supports up to PC4-19200 (DDR4-2400)
Supports up to 16 GB (unbuffered) with two 8 GB DIMMs on 64-bit systems
If you are unsure on what and where to buy, I recommend the Crucial site
Click on the "Upgrade my computer" on the top right and then "Crucial Scanner" then let it do its thing. Pick the memory options when available. "Guaranteed compatibility when you use our advisor and purchase from Crucial"
You can use their recommendations with confidence.
