@Vandalay,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Your HP Pavilion Desktop - TP01-1026 (9EE17AA) is fitted with the Baker motherboard (SSID: 8767) and requires a 'regular' (single notch) M.2 NVMe SSD such as a Samsung 970 Evo Plus or a WD Black SN770. This M.2 slot is Gen3, meaning, you could install a Gen4 M.2 drive, but it will run at Gen3 I/O speeds.

Kind Regards,

Thanks for the detailed response. NVEs are typically cheaper than SATA M.2, so I appreciate the extra detail and confirmation, as I've seen posts that support it, but didn't get into the detail of the speed expectations.
Regards Vandalay.
