HP Desktop PC M01-F3000a (6G6E5AV)

I need to upgrade to an 8GB GPU. What are the "longest and tallest" measurements allowed for GPU card? I will upgrade PSU if needed. (Already upped to 32GB RAM)

Example card: Radeon RX 6600. Would it fit?

Motherboard: Erica 9

Integrated graphics: AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600G
Expansion Slots: PCIe x16

Thanks!

@Bewitching,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

What I would propose is the following: upgrade your power supply to this 400-watt PSU with p/n: L04618-800.  You can purchase this power supply online, such as via this reputable/trusted eBay Seller: 400W L04618-800 Power Supply For HP 280 288 285 480 600 680 800 G3 G4 L76557-001 | eBay.  With this power supply, you can power a smaller-sized (two fan) RTX 4060 8GB model, powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable, such as this affordable (under $300) Amazon purchase option: Amazon.com: MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 8GB GDRR6 Extreme Clock: 2505 MHz 128-Bit HDMI/DP Nvlink TOR....

@NonSequitur777

I hate to drag you back to this thread... But

That $300 is out of range for a few months.

I found this one that has the same dimensions; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CJTGP6QL

AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB 2048SP GDDR5

7.48 x 4.37 x 1.5 inches

Powerful AMD's Polaris 20 XL series architecture

Stream Processors (CUDA) 2048

Recommended System Power (W) 300W

Supplementary Power Connectors 6 pins.

Compatible with this PSU?: https://a.co/d/09DgiOd

Connector: 4 + 4 +8 + 7pin(3wires)

Or am I stuck holding out for the $300 one  😞

Can I get away with the above for 4 months?

Thank you for your patience with me!

@Bewitching,

No worries, you are good!

This particular RX 580 is rated as having a 130-watt TDP (most RX 580 models are rated at 185-watt), and in that case the 400-watt power supply you referenced will be able to power your card.

You are the BEST!

(How do I buy you a cup of coffee or something? I know that sounds lame but I don't know what the protocol is here LOL)

Thank you again!

@Bewitching,

Thank you -you definitely brought a smile (grin) to my face!

Your offer would be very sweet indeed, but your kind/encouraging feedback is good enough!
