What is the pinouts for the usb2.0 header on a Z420 motherboard? The key is in a different position than normal.

Thanks for the try but the link shows a standard USB 2.0 header. The usb2.0 header on a Z420 motherboard key is in a different position than normal.

On the Z420 motherboard, how many pins for the USB header?

Electronically the signaling and voltage on the USB 2 straight line header in question needs to be the same as a standard USB header. Use a VOM to determine which pin is ground and which is +5v.   I suggest that you start with the end pins.

 

Do you think that you might on put the header cable on reversed? The HP connector should be keyed on the end.

On a normal header the key is at pin 9 on the HP Z420 the key is at pin 1.

The orange header has two 3.3 volt and two ground pins for the stock USB 3 header plus one USB 2 header.
