HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Tower PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an old HP EliteDesk 800 G1 TWR. I was looking into upgrading my PSU to replace my very old video card, and something's puzzling me - what is the purpose of the SATA PWR0 port, between the PWR and PWR CMD ports? It's fed directly from the PSU, so it can't be to provide power to the drives, which are fed directly from the PSU as well.

Edit: I should have mentioned, but this motherboard has no M.2 slots, so that's not it either.

Okay, I really needed more caffeine, even though I'm not allowed.

When putting it back together, I saw that the cable to the SATA PWR0 port doesn't actually go to the PSU, but to the drives instead; it was just clipped together with the PSU cables to reduce clutter in the case. So that explains that, and it would be redundant with a newer PSU that has SATA power cables directly from the PSU.

And for further edification, a non-HP PSU can be used with an adapter cable from 24 pin female to 6-pin+6-pin male to go into the PWR and PWR CMD ports. There are multiple versions on various stores, including Amazon, that purport to support this model among others.

I got an adapter. But I'd forgotten to check the mounting. While the new PSU fits in the same space (it is actually shorter in one dimension, height if you put the tower case vertically), none of the screw holes match up. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do, since I have no access to a 3D printer to make the adapter plate I found on Thingiverse, and moving the guts to another case is a rather distant resort. Can anyone please advise?
