I have a new slimlin hp 260-a111na - And need a new power lead so that it fits two hds. the supplied one only works for a hd and cd-rom, as the cd-rom sata power connector is half the normal hd size.
I have searched everywhere but i can' t even find the type/name of the connector that connects said lead to the mobo - the mobo connector is six mini pins. it's definitely not molex -
Any help? I wish to use my ssd as os, and the systems build in 1tb drive for storage.
Plugs into the mb - labeled "sata power"]

Are the back of the hard drive is a wide power plug, and a narrower plug. If you trace the larger, it does to the power supply. The narrower, being the data line, plugs into the motherboard.
Now, if you bought the SATA power splitter, you would see the single end plugs into the power lead you remove from the hard drive. Then, you have 2 power leads (splitter).
Standard power leads from a power supply index.

Sorry to be the bearer of SAD news ! Specs on the motherboard show only 2 headers.
Your computer is not capable of adding a third SATA device/hardware.

Hey yeah thats not the problem - I dont have any need for the dvd-rom, i just want to use the two hds, one ssd, the other the built in one.
but the second power connector for the dvd-rom, although coming from the same connector, is half the size required. so i wish to buy a new split power cable, but for the life of me i can't find even a picture on google of the connector that connects to the port labeled "Sata power"
Any ideas? or better yet,a link on amazon to one?

If you have a unused molex, use this, it's free ship, and cheaper.
Just so you understand, you will be disconnecting the SATA data lead from the DVD drive.
These 2 headers are the SATA data ports.

Yeah thats my problem - unknown is very diff from molex (six pins and smaller) and the one you linked isn't the same. when i unplug it and look, it's six cirular holes that the mini pins in the motherboard connector, actually connect to.
I've searched for an hour, no luck. Even took a pic of the connector and used google image search but no results. Checked everywhere i could think of and no mention of it or ones to sell. Any ideas beyond that?

Yeah I realize that - the problem is no power connector that actually plugs into the single sata power port, is in that list or on the internet.
Could it be a propriety plug/connector that isn't availible normally?
I mean of the two power plugs that come from the single connector - one is big and fits a normal hd, but the other is twice as small and only fits the built in dvd-rom - so i need a new lead with both power supplies the same size. if that makes sense?
Also even though in that link it looks similar to aux power - my lead has just Four wires, in the order "Yellow, Black, Black, Red" while the aux one on that site has six wires.

Sorry me being dumb, I see how it works now, i.e hd connector to two more connectors, rather than straight from the mobo.
Sorry but i think i clicked my own reply as the solution - if there's a way i can admend that to being your reply pls let me know.
thanks for the help.
