The 8300 Elite CMT will support up to the i7-3770 or i7-3770K processor.

 

See the HP 8300 Elite Quickspecs at the link below for the list of supported processors by form factor that HP offered in the model series:

 

HP Compaq Elite 8300 Business PC

 

While the i7-3770K is not listed, it is supported.
