Z2 has no SATA data cable

My new Z2 has a SATA power cable but no data cable. SATA0 and 1 motherboard ports are empty.

Surely this is meant to come with the cable? I can't find a part number to order one.

I imagine that if the PC did not come with a SATA drive the cable would not be included.

I'm surprised the power cable is there, unless your PC has an optical drive.

Thanks for the help 🙂 It has no DVD drive but I've got one on order. HP didn't use to penny pinch like this but that's life.

In the UK HP want almost £70 a cable and they're on back order! You have to laugh........

Unfortunately, I don't know where you will be able to find that cable.

I checked eBay, UK and Amazon, UK and got nothing.

Perhaps you can contact one of HP's authorized suppliers in the UK and see if they can get the cable for you.

The suppliers are in alphabetical order by country.

Hopefully, one of those suppliers will be able to help, because 70 quid is nuts.

If you look at the illustration of the cable from that US supplier I posted, it appears to be nothing special--an 8" cable with straight connectors on both ends, not even one straight and one angled.

Should be a dime a dozen.
